Overview

Magnitudle is a daily estimation game. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have when you use the game, create an account, view your history, join a group, use the Size It Up Discord companion, submit feedback, or view advertising.

Information We Collect

Based on the current app configuration, Magnitudle may collect and store:

• Anonymous session data used to let guests play without creating an account first.
• Account information managed through Supabase authentication, such as your email address.
• Profile details you choose to save, including display name, first name, last name, and city.
• Gameplay records such as your guesses, scores, streaks, game history, and season progress.
• Group data such as group names, join codes, and membership records when you create or join groups.
• Feedback you submit, including your message, optional email address, and technical information such as your browser user agent.
• Basic usage analytics events, including page views, question starts, completions, shares, and the page path where those actions occurred.
• Technical and advertising data such as your IP address, browser and device information, operating system, language, approximate location, referral source, site activity, and interactions with advertisements.
• Data stored or accessed through cookies, browser storage, pixels, tags, beacons, and similar technologies.

Size It Up Discord Companion

If you install or use the Magnitudle / Size It Up Discord app, including its slash commands and daily posts, Magnitudle processes the information needed to operate the integration. This may include your Discord user ID and display name, the Discord server (guild) ID, and the selected channel ID. Server configuration may include the selected channel, timezone, daily-post time, and whether daily posts are enabled.

To connect a Discord play request with a legitimate Magnitudle result, we use temporary Size It Up play-session and capability records. A Magnitudle account is not required to use the Discord companion, so the existing guest-session gameplay system may be used. Completed Size It Up scores and ranking information are used to provide guild leaderboards, player counts, and server streaks.

Discord interaction-response credentials may be stored privately for the short period needed to update an ephemeral Discord message after a result is associated. These credentials expire quickly, are not exposed to the gameplay page, and are cleaned up automatically when they expire or are used. Other Discord-related operational records may remain for as long as reasonably needed for guild configuration, leaderboard and streak history, security, abuse prevention, and reliable message delivery.

Discord is a third-party platform and processes information under its own policies. You can review the Discord Privacy Policy. Cookies and Browser Storage

Magnitudle and its service providers use cookies and browser storage to operate the app, remember preferences, measure usage, and support advertising. Some are set directly by Magnitudle and others are set by third-party services.

Based on the current app behavior, this may include:

• Supabase authentication cookies used to maintain sign-in state.
• A short-lived `magnitude-guest-progress-transfer` cookie used when moving guest progress into a signed-in account.
• Local storage entries used to remember a guest session token and whether introductory onboarding has already been shown.
• Analytics-related storage used by Vercel Analytics, when applicable in your browser.
• Google Analytics cookies and identifiers used to measure visits and interactions.
• First- and third-party advertising cookies and similar technologies used by Mediavine and its partners.

We use these technologies to keep users signed in, preserve guest progress between visits, safely transfer progress during login or sign-up, and understand app usage to improve reliability and gameplay, measure advertising, and show contextual or interest-based ads.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising.

Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

• IP Address
• Operating System type
• Operating System version
• Device Type
• Language of the website
• Web browser type
• Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

Analytics

Magnitudle uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics may collect first-party cookie identifiers, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and activity on the site. Google explains how it processes this information on its partner sites information page. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Magnitudle also uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure aggregate usage, performance, and reliability.

How We Use Information

Magnitudle uses this information to:

• Run the daily game and save your progress.
• Restore guest sessions and transfer guest progress when you move into a logged-in account.
• Show your stats, streaks, history, and leaderboards.
• Operate Discord slash commands, daily posts, guild leaderboards, server streaks, and ephemeral result updates.
• Let you manage your account profile and groups.
• Measure product usage and improve reliability and gameplay.
• Serve, personalize, measure, and protect advertising.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

Services Used

The current site configuration uses third-party services to operate the product:

• Supabase for authentication, database storage, and server-side application functions.
• Discord for the Size It Up server integration, slash commands, messages, and interaction responses.
• Google Analytics for site usage analytics.
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for usage and performance analytics.
• Mediavine and its advertising partners for programmatic advertising.

These providers may process information on our behalf or, where stated in their own policies, for their own purposes. Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live and may be disclosed when required by law, to protect the service and its users, or as part of a business transfer.

Data Retention

Magnitudle keeps data for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the game, preserve player history, maintain groups and leaderboards, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Browser-side storage may remain until you clear it.

Discord play capabilities are short-lived and are stored by Magnitudle only as one-way hashes. Interaction-response credentials are retained only for the limited interaction period and are automatically expired or removed. Related guild configuration, completed result associations, leaderboard history, security records, and delivery records may be retained while needed to operate and protect the Discord companion.

Your Choices

• You can play as a guest, although some account-only features may be unavailable.
• You can stop using the service at any time.
• You can clear local browser storage and cookies from your browser settings.
• You can edit profile fields stored in your account from the account page.
• You can use the advertising and analytics opt-out tools linked above.
• Where the Mediavine consent interface is available, you can reject non-essential purposes or change your privacy preferences.

If you block or clear cookies and site storage, some parts of Magnitudle may stop working properly, including sign-in state, guest progress, and saved preferences.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may submit a request through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained where the law permits or requires it.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Children

Magnitudle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the product changes. When that happens, the effective date on this page will be updated as well.
